VYbE Dance
Here we have a local dance company from the GTA-ish.. okay maybe not GTA but they're from around. I admit I haven't looked too much into VYbE's background but they are an amazing dance company. I myself have taken a workshop from 2 of the company's choreographers (Teego, sadly she was a judge at Beat Down 09 and could not perform along side her team, and Alvin) and they're workshops were killer. Teego's was upbeat and from that workshop alone I could distinguish certain aspects of her style. It was a very fun class. And as for Alvin, I can't begin to say how sick I think he is and not just because he's my friend's boyfriend. He's an amazing dancer and I'm just sad my knee gave out while learning his routine. Anyways this is their performance for Beat Down 09. It's a pretty sick routine with the section for "Shots" by LMFAO feat. Lil Jon being my favourite section. I particularly found the waving sequence of that section to be so dope. You will rarely hear me say that. Anyways here is there youtube channel:
Check it out for other performances as well as videos of their workshops.
Following this I'll be posting up as much as I can on other local Dance Teams/Companies... with hopefully more research put into them.

Rino Nakasone-Razalan
Today's featured dancer is Rino Nakasone-Razalan of the Beatfreaks who appeared and finished runner up to Quest Crew on the 3rd season of ABDC. Now, out of all the members of the Beatfreaks Rino is by far my favourite (and no, not because she's asian... and half filipino... correct me if I'm wrong there) because I find her style to be the most fitting with her personality. That and I find her EXTREMELY adorable and cute. I can't get past watching a video of her speaking without getting all giddy at her accent because I find it that cute. That aside though, she is an extremely good dancer and I would love to take one of her classes sometime if she is ever in Toronto or if I decide to go to the West Coast.

Pacman under the Moon
Here we have Phillip "Pacman" Chbeeb and Di "Moon" Zhang performing a choreographed piece to "Pro Nails" (Remix) by Rusko. The concept is simple, girl finds remote control and activates the dancers (Pacman and Moon) resulting in an awe inducing performance until girl runs away only to have the remote picked up by another guy and replaying the whole event.

"Hok" soaring during the "Moon" Light
So here we have a video of a workshop class taught by the duo of Hok and Moon. I personally thought Hok had the better performance as he sold it better. That's just my own personal opinion though.

Follow The Movement
The purpose of this blog is to display and promote dancers both domestically around me, and those around the world. It's pretty obvious that dance's exposure towards the mainstream has drastically changed over the past 4 years or so and so here I am, not a dancer, but a lover of dance just wanting to help give exposure.
Above is the video commercial for Boogie Zone. The dancers featured and their affiliations are listed below in order of appearance beginning from 29 seconds:
Lando Wilkins - Boxcuttuhz
Aye Hasegawa - Boxcuttuhz
Hokuto "Hok" Konishi - Quest Crew

Ryan Feng - Quest Crew
Di "Moon" Zhang - Marvelous Motion
Lydia Paek - Quest Crew/Boxcuttuhz
Victor Kim - Quest Crew
Also if you noticed, the song featured in this video is the same song I first posted in my Music Blog.
